Frequently asked questions
If your question isn't here, ask us directly.
Does IndieVouch hold my money at any point?
No. Every payment goes straight from the buyer's UPI app to your own VPA. IndieVouch only records what happened afterwards — see Trust for the full explanation.
How does it know a payment actually came in?
Your bank already texts you a credit alert for every UPI payment. MacroDroid, Tasker or Automate on Android — or a Shortcut on iPhone — forwards that text the moment it arrives. We parse it, match the amount and reference to the right order, and close it out automatically.
What if my phone is off or has no signal when a payment lands?
The order simply waits as pending until the SMS is eventually forwarded, or you settle it by hand from the dashboard once you've checked your bank app yourself.
What happens if the buyer pays the wrong amount?
It's marked Flagged rather than silently completed or silently failed, with the shortfall or overage on record so you can decide how to handle it.
Can buyers pay with any UPI app?
Yes — links, buttons and storefront checkouts all build a standard upi://pay
request, which every UPI app (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, your bank's own app) can
open.
Is there a percentage fee on my sales?
No. See Pricing — the only charge anywhere is a one-time credit cost to create a storefront. Every sale, on every surface, is free.
Can I refund a sale?
Yes, from the order's detail page once it's marked completed. The buyer gets an email
and your webhook fires a transaction.refunded event.
Can I sell digital files, like an ebook or a preset pack?
Yes — attach a file to a link, a button or a storefront product. It's kept private and only unlocks as a download once that specific order is completed.
Do I need a registered business or GST to use IndieVouch?
That depends on what and how much you're selling, and isn't something we can answer for you — this is general information, not legal advice. IndieVouch itself has no registration requirement of its own; it's simply generating links to a UPI account you already control.
Is there a way to integrate this into my own app or site?
Yes — the signed developer API lets you create orders and receive webhooks on every status change. See the Developer tab in your dashboard once you've signed up.
